Vedic astrology, also known as Jyotish, is one of the oldest systems of astrology, rooted in ancient Indian texts. It studies the positions of planets at the time of a person's birth to build a birth chart, or kundali.
How is it different from Western astrology?
Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, which accounts for the gradual shift of the earth's axis, while Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac. This means your Vedic sun sign may differ from your Western sun sign.
What happens in a consultation?
A consultation typically starts with your birth date, time and place to construct your kundali. The astrologer then reviews planetary positions, houses and current transits (dasha/gochar) to discuss the questions you bring — career, relationships, health or major life decisions.
